Kobayakawa was first released in 2013, and in 2018 an updated edition by the same name was also released. For information on the previous "Kobayakawa", please check
here. This new and improved 2025 edition is based on the version available to play in the video game "Let's Play! Oink Games", which features additional rules and new components.

"Kobayakawa" is a card game where players compete by betting chips on the strength of the number written on the card in their hand. The card in the middle of the table, called the "Kobayakawa", will help whoever is holding the card with the lowest number. The number on the "Kobayakawa" is added to the lowest number. Which means whoever is holding the card with the highest number isn't guaranteed to win! After playing 5 rounds, the player who has earned the most chips is the victor.
In the original rules, only players who entered the battle could bet chips, but in this brand new edition of "Kobayakawa", a new rule has been added. Even players who retreat from the battle can bet their chips by predicting who will win the round.

If two or more players enter the battle, players who retreated will predict who they think will win the round. These players place 1 to 3 chips on the newly added "Player Markers," and put it in front of the player they think will win. As long as you have at least one chip, you must make a prediction and place a bet. If your prediction is correct, you get back double the number of chips that you bet.
